"Over five years ago in November I
broke my left wrist and underwent
surgery, in which the doctors put in
screws and a plate unit. After a lengthy
recuperation period, the paraphernalia
came out and I was referred to physical
therapy by my doctor. A left-handed
person, I was naturally anxious to
restore function to my arm but the
physical therapy was ineffective. I still
wasn't able to use my arm at all..
From there, I went to hand therapy
and they created a device that did no
good at all After using it, my hand was
blue and bruised. I stopped using it
and was very frustrated because it
seemed the doctors were not listening
to what I was telling them-- though the
fracture was in my wrist, the primary
area of severe pain was farther up the
forearm. After examining and x-raying
my arm, the doctors and therapists told
me that there was nothing wrong with
that area at all.
I met Sal at a social party, and he tried
to put his hands on it and he said the
muscles were knotted in the middle of
the arm in the front, not where the
actual break was but above it thenext
morning I was able to use it. He
worked on it for about 15 minutes his
hands went to exactly where I was
complaining that it was hurting, where
the docs were telling me that there was
nothing near/nothing wrong with there.
The break was in the actual wrist¦ this
was in the forearm. He thought it was
muscles and nerves, matted up
together. Had to be loosened out,
worked out. I went to him a couple of
times and it was fine! I was without
the use of my arm from November to
August. Been better ever since. I
mentioned it to my doctor, as I was still
under my surgeons care. I brought
him Sal's brochure, thinking he was
going to jump on it¦ but apparently he
didnt. Its a business, the medical field.
That very first night, the next morning
I was able to use my hand to eat a bowl
of cereal¦ I didn't even realize I was
using it.
